I&E Competition Details

NCPA is excited to offer the opportunity to perform a solo or small ensemble piece at our annual I&E competition on April 25, 2026, at either James Logan High School or West Park High School.

I&E competition is open to any current member of a scholastic or independent percussion or wind ensemble that will have competed in at least one 2026 NCPA or non-NCPA indoor percussion or winds competition, or currently enrolled in a middle school, junior high school, or high school. Participants can only participate in one region. Categories include snare solo, tenor solo, bass drum ensemble, cymbal ensemble, mallet solo, drumset solo, wind solo, wind ensemble, percussion ensemble, and general percussion solo. You may participate in more than one ensemble, however, an ensemble may only compete once in the percussion or wind ensemble categories. Please register separately for each solo category you plan to compete in; ensembles require one registration per ensemble.

Registration fees will be collected during the registration process and will not be collected on the day of the event. Participants will pay a $25 registration fee. Registration fee payments are final and non-refundable. Ensembles must pay the total registration fee when registering.

Performance order will be determined by the contest administrators based on best event flow. The schedule will be posted within a few days after registration closes. Registration will close on April 21, 2025, 11:59PM.
